my fd had its catalytic converter, air pump, acv and all associated parts removed and I want to put a cat back in with the aim of passing mot

It seems its almost impossible or very expensive to buy the entire airpump, acv, etc assembly

I’m guessing my best options are to either put in a cat with no air pump at all or put in a cat with an air pump only and it’s constantly pushing air into the cat as its being driven by the belt

I’ve seen a few posts online about both options but not exactly sure what to go with

will it pass mot or clog cat without airpump or will an airpump constantly pushing air overheat the cat or something else?

I am still new to this scene but I managed to get it within emissions with a metal cat and a single turbo with no acv nor air pump. Just need to lean the mixture a bit for that ocassion and tweak ignition (this is the most important one). I have experience with tuning other cars and it wasn't much different for a rotary engine. In USA there are people that choose to adapt the RX8 air pump as it is electrical and much cheaper (I think Corvette C5 also has one).

So long as it's pre 95 and an import it will be eligible for a non cat test, in my case I still used a 200 cell cat for the MOT and it passed.
