For event threads such as JapFest, JDM Coombe, trackdays etc, could we have a attendance feature where we can confirm that we’re going? This could be displayed separately at the top of thread. Like a Facebook style guest list I suppose….

Would work better than having the OP manually managing a list of names and trying to keep track of everyone, or having an ever growing list copied and pasted throughout the thread .

Bonus points for adding additional status features e.g people marking that they’ve paid, booked stand passes or track sessions at shows etc

There's something out there I've been looking at that does this. Its one of the features that WILL be added this year. There will be an event tab at the top where you will see a calendar of all events. You can then filter it to see only the events you're going to etc

Our forum software has a big patch coming up soon adding lots of new features such as push notifications which would work with the events system. Details can be found here, anything marked with '2.1' . Speculation is that 2.1 will be released around the end of Jan.

I won't add anything on top of what we have until this update has been rolled out as it will be double the work

A calendar showing events and meets coming up would be good, it could give you a quick overview of whats coming up on what day and a link to the Thread regarding that event (if there is one).

Might also give people an opportunity to put events they're going to on there without having to post a whole new thread...

Just an idea, i've seen it before and it works well....?

Calendar should now be visible in the menu. You can create events from the main Calendar page or from within the event section of the forum. You can enable RSVP where people can confirm attendance.

Events will look like this:
