Evening all, getting shelsley walsh over the line doesn't seem to be working for whatever reason so here comes options 2. Bicester have got back to me today asking if we would still like the 18th of July.
Except this time they are offering the track and paddock area as well, along with the hangar. For those that came last year that is the area 'behind' the hangar where that poxy food van was. Or if you've been to a scramble its the main gate.
So a huge area covered and open, perfect for a british summer. Great for those who want staged photos, but also the track. I've checked and we can film on there so could be a great opp for rollers and a proper meet video. Sound is limited to 100db for flybys, I would wager for filming at slower speeds louder cars would be tolerated.
With insurance, if we can get similar numbers to last year I think it would be about £55/60 per car. So can be split between passengers. I would open it to all 7s(yes the swaps as well), and anything rotary powered.
Thoughts on a postcard please. They can't change the date.
Please either like the post or comment if keen.
Cheers boys and girls, Charlie.

Afternoon all, I'm afraid to say this isn't going to happen. The numbers for people just aren't showing keen, combined on here and FB. I get not everyone will be on here or there, but there's only so long I can keep beating the drum for it - or possibly the dead horse.
Shelsley has now be taken by someone else.

Even though I'm no longer an owner I'm a sucker for these things, so happy to organise an event if we can find the magical combination or location and price.

On a ide note, I've had enough interest for others, non dorito tpyes, that I think I'll hire shelsey next year and just put on a private event, any one from here would be welcome to join.

Cheers, Charlie

Ah that's a shame, I missed last year, would have been up for that.
Thanks for spending the time looking into it, regardless.

Id be keen for a Bicester meet again?
I asked the wider FB group, of which there are 300 odd members, 7s and 8s mainly, and there just wasn't the interest in Bicester regrettably, to make the maths work. It's a cool location I just felt somewhere new might be a nice change. Maybe it has to be biannual to get the bigger numbers? Who knows. It's along way out for many which I get so maybe people don't want to commit that far ahead.

Morning all, 7s day 2026. I'm fortunate enough to have a farm yard that doubles as a carpark on Sunday's for a regular Cars & Coffee I run here. https://www.instagram.com/uptonbridgefarm/reel/DWMWzjisLy0/ As you can see it gets quite busy but I was thinking on the 12th of July, the closest to 7/7 that works for me, I'd be more than happy to rope off an area for rotary goodness if anyone wants to come on down.
C&C runs from 09:00 - 12:00, the farmshop does drinks and breakfast baps. Any after where everyone goes is up to you guys, potentially a drive up through Cheddar Gorge could be a laugh.
If you are keen let me know, I will need to get a grip on numbers to know what to rope off.
I think next year if people are keen I'll look at organising something abit bigger if someone else hasn't picked it up.
