HI all,

I'm looking to rebuild my TB as after a smoke test it showed some quite big leakage. idle has been fine but i was refreshing the vac lines so did the test.
I was looking at the how to guide linked below and the seals they used from the US for 5 with shipping to my brother in Canada was $65!
So i looked for a UK supplier, i have managed to find one, they can source the 5 x rings needed and have a minimum qty of 50 so is anyone else interested?
Ideally a minimum of 9, i can only imagine with the age of these TB's most will need doing, if your near to Northampton more than happy to do a smoke vac test for you.
Cost for the set of 5 will be around £12 posted

Have you tested the o- rings to make totally sure it’ll work?
If so then count me in

No i haven't even placed the order, as they are a minimum Qty and i should add there is a 6 week lead time, but i managed to get the specs of what was used so no reason to believe they would be wrong, obviously on my head if they are

count me in. Just rebuilt my throttle body but would be good to have a set if I need them.

I rebuilt mine a year ago and bought these off eBay, I had the same issue and this sorted them if it’s easier than a group buy!

Ok thanks. And they sealed ok?
I have the specs as 10x2.5
What did you use on the butterfly screws to hold them?

Yep sealed ok, I will probably do another smoke test soon as I’ve done lots of work to it recently. Used decent red permanent loctite on the screws

I think your correct with the size but not had any issues with these

I'll take a set, hopefully I'll be putting mine back together this year (or next)

Great, I will go ahead and order these as there is a 5 week lead time and I sure a couple more will jump on

4. Paulm
5. Duey

Morning all,
I have the seals and rebuilt my TB yesterday, they are a great fit and have stopped leaks on my smoke vac tester.
I followed the guide below for the rebuild which was straight forward, i would say make sure you get the JIS screwdriver as the screws were tight but came out without issue (although i think mine had been apart before for polishing)
I used Loctite 271 on the butterfly screws (just advise these are sealed at your own risk)
The only other thing i found is that you only need 4 x rings, the 5th seal is for the ICV adjuster screw but i have been unable to find a replacement for this, my was ok and didn't need replacing anyway so i'm no concerned

So just to repeat this will now be 4 x rings as this is all that is needed for the butterfly shafts
Cost will be £12 posted if you can send details and payment to my PayPal as friend or cover fees

Any other questions let me know!

Thanks all

Are you going to be sending the fifth anyway?

(Since you were ordering 5 per person)

If you really want it i can it just means i have a couple more kits for others if i don't, I'm really not making anything out of it especially as all kits have not sold
