All the bits dropped off with Colum this week for final engine assembly, likely a few weeks until I get that back to drop in.

I visited Thermomet yesterday morning, a nice 5hr round trip. Had a little look in their workshop, their work looks very good. Unfortunately up to a 6 weeks wait for my manifold, down pipe and turbo to be done.

I’m on the look out for some inner arch guards if anyone has some hidden away they’d like to sell.

Inner arch liners available from Mazda for approx £250, 7 day lead time. Will purchase a set when I’m a bit more flush.

Aquamist 6 port block is on its way, final piece of the puzzle is the water/meth tank, will buy the Sakebomb tank that replaces the OE washer bottle.

Purchased a couple of SSRs from Tom at Advolcult for the fuel pumps, need one more soon for WMI set up.

Engine was kindly dropped off by Colum last night. Now sat in next door neighbour’s garage until I can hopefully fit on Sunday all being well with the weather.

Should have the upper inlet finished in the next few weeks and apart from that it’s just the engine loom and parts back from Thermomet. Oh and custom filler neck from Colum with provisions for breather and Turbosmart 40psi regulator.

Does anyone have one of the dust covers that sits on top of box/engine as shown in pic ?

Started off fitting this lot. A dipstick, swapped thermostat housing so I can run without air separator tank, a gasket for oil return plus two dust covers. One for side of gearbox and one on top of gearbox/engine.

Will need to purchase a black rattle can to tidy them up tomorrow.

Then set about mounting the 2 x MAC valves I’ll be using for boost control. I bought a couple of 3D printed brackets from Tom which seem to fit nicely. Looks neat and easy to plumb from this position.

Next up I started messing about with the fuel system. I managed to get the 2200s mounted in the secondary rail but In order to fit the 2 x central injectors I need injector extenders which are now on order.

The primaries are nice and simple - sticking with 1650s.

I think I have enough injector but if I ever needed two more at least I’m future proofed.

I started thinking about mounting the CDI coil packs. I planned ahead and bought a bracket from a company in Aus. Looks like I can mount neatly here on chassis leg, i just need to drill a hole to mount the second fixing point. Should work well with a set of custom leads.

Finally I realised that I no longer need the pillar boost and AFR gauge as the dash will provide that data. I set about removing them, the wiring under the dash is a mess, it’s had all sorts wired in it’s time, will get this tidied up when the chap does the loom.

I’ve already sold these along with my spare secondary fuel rail. At least I can recoup some money back, it’ll just get ploughed back in as I still need more KA sensors which aren’t cheap.

Sad thing is my A pillar has a big hole in it where someone has fitted the dual pod and gauges, need to source a new one.

I’m going to be using Matt from Level Motorsport Wiring for my loom, his work looks amazing. I’m booked in for end of April.

So a big list of jobs to do but getting stuck in now. Two more weeks for Thermomet bits at which point car will be 90% done.

Hopefully Colum with have upper inlet finished soon too.

Mainly fixing sensors etc in place.
