What front sub frames are we running and what motor mount kits do we think are the best ?

Latest posts

Both current and past were modified Mazda subframes by dynotorque if i was doing it myself either ronin or sikky (both great) whichever was cheapest.

Ronnin are bringing out a redesigned subframe soon so might be worth waiting for that if you have the money to spend

I just want to do it right first time and was put off the hindson one when i had to drill out the holes to mount the sterring rack.
has anyone seen the sikky mounting kit which used the standard subframe?

Not seen it in the flesh but if you search on norotors there's a few build threads/reviews.

How much did you have to drill it out and have you measured the difference of the rack position on the hinson one vs the standard subframe?

I don't think Hinson customer service helped their reputation either, and while their subframe isn't ideal it probably wasn't the worst part of their conversion kit, that was probably the diff support torque arm and bump steer connection parts.

I built my own but its very similar to the samberg one, but it was time consuming.

It was only about 3-5 mm but expected more, i know what you mean on the bump steer kit as i have that as well.
Nice work on the subframe i wish i was a bit more experianced to build my own thats why i went down the bolt in off the shelf option.

Iam running a custom mount at min but I was running a hinson full setup for year in old car then sold setup to a friend who used it for very successful events in British drift championship with no issues apart from the engine pucks given up.

The sikky kit is good but you have to knock the hell/cut the firewall alot to get engine to fit.

If you have a hinson use it and get it running.just get rid of the torque arm support and get a rear diff support made.
