As above can any tell me the weight differences and is anyone running a steel block? how do you find it? does it make the car nose heavy ?

Cheers

It should be somewhere on Norotors.com or ls1tech.com. I think the iron block would only get used for turbo or supercharger applications.

So the weight different is not too bad then. I want to keep options open for more power later in my build

You can make 1,000hp on the aluminium block if you want to. The motors are strong enough. Just go with whatever block gives you the best deal and then decide on N/A or FI. Buy some sexy heads and a huge cam and stick some nitrous on it, maybe a 150 shot. Then buy a Ford 9" solid rear end, heavy duty axles, adjustable rear control arms, some Mickey Thompson's and run a 9 second 1/4. Ha! 😆

Easy as that 😂😂🤗🤗🤗

Just be aware that getting a huge cam (with a lot of overlap) means it will not pass MOT emissions tests.

Of course some people can get around that.

Haha bloody Yankees know they're shit about v8s 🤓 bloody sweet reply roy, you just made me mess my knickers 😍💦

Personally I don't see why you would go down the steel route, unless you were aiming for 1500± bhp, Craig Taylor's rx7 was 1200 with an ally block. If your going all out na like a 454 then exceptions can be made 😁
