Lowering the seating position?

I feel like I'm sitting up quite high in my FD. OEM seats, OEM rails I think. I'd really like to being sitting lower, is there a way to achieve this with the OEM seats or do I just need to bite the bullet and buy some aftermarket bucket seats and rails?

Any hints or tips?

I know some guys modify the floor pan slightly. Remember reading this thread on the US forums, theres pics at the end, perhaps you could look into doing something similar.
