I need to make a rebuild and street port on my car and I would bring the car to a builder and he make all the staff and ecu tune.

Where can I bring my car preferably on the south of the England. The best reliable working builder and not the expensive :sneaky:.

In addition of this job I need to make a gearbox rebuild, gearbox swap, v-mount build...

Thank you in advance for your advices :)

You want all that work done well and not too expensive?

Buy another car with all that shit already done. Cheapest way.

Thank-you but not the best advices... My car have a lot parts on it and to swap the full car and take another one with an engine possibly at the end of his life I'm sure that it's not the right way!

Stick your engine on a pallet and post to oldones. Buy a v mount kit and a plug and play ECU. That will be cheapest way.

Do your own research mate. Take into account everything. Everyone has their own preferred tuner/engine builder. Me, I wouldn’t trust a car to anyone other than JayDee and Stuart (Rotortorque). Why? Because they take time, care and they can handle the job end to end. Don’t make a choice based on price or proximity and whatever you do, don’t make it based on a popularity contest.

I used Colum / garageReg for the engine build but he sent my plates off to oldone for his streetport, I'm 99% sure stu sends the engine to Oldone for porting too.

Nah, Stu and Jay port engines themselves. I've watched the do two motors, one a Street port and one a bridge. They also did Charlie's PP.

Why are you looking at uk? Surely there'd be some awesome builders in Germany/france/Italy which is a bit closer to home! Personally If I lived where you are I'd get on the rx7 club and have a nose at what's going on in Europe! Not sure how well priced things are over there but it's gotta be cheaper than lugging it all over here and you don't even need to catch a train or boat 😂

You are right, I live in Switzerland but I'm Italian, I contacted one rotary specialist in Italie and the cost of a rebuild and swapping gearbox and rebuild it too "I give all the parts for rebuild the gearbox and the rest of the parts for the manual swap" was absolutly exaggerated 12k euro vat exlude !!!

In France I have some adress near to my home "4hours " but I wait some quote now. In germany too but they are on the nord of the country and it's not close to my home, same distance to England. In Italy, Switzerland and France there isn't many rx7 and the builder do the job but for my personal opinion I think In England the builder are better for the porting and build.

Wow, I'm really surprised that there's not a lot of options over there! I thought the Germans would be mad for rx7 tuning! 12k is a lot of money! Am I right in saying your car is automatic and you are wanting to do a manual gearbox conversion? Also if you were rebuilding a manual gearbox then I can imagine that would be quite expensive too! From my personal experience, I would look at getting a second hand manual gearbox and just have the synchros replaced and also I know people like to change the 5th gear as there was two different gears or something......I'm waffling now lol.
As said before though. ......there are lots of mixed opinions of who's good whos shit and who's a paedo!
If you're serious about coming over to Britain for a rebuild then try get the most recent reviews of work carried out on engines!
Rx motors is down south and has not been mentioned here as of yet! I'm not sure what his rep is like these days or what his time line is like on rebuildung engines. I've personally never dealt with him but he rebuilt my fd a few years before I owned it and mine had done 30k before I opened it up and rebuilt it. (It was 3 years after my rebuild I found out it had only been rebuilt 30k previously to my build and I was noob that didn't know I should have compression tested my engine).

So rx motors is another option to look at! Maybe see if there are any reviews on Google! Not sure if he ports but you could always split it into to places if prefered?

Sorry it's a bit long winded lol.

yes 12k and you add the Italian vat and you stay at 14400 ! Absolutly ridiculous, In switzerland it's cheaper but here the builder it's antipatic and don't do porting or anything other than stock !

I purchased a Manual gearbox to a fucking guy in Germany, he told me that the gearbox was in good working order and befor to put it on the car I openend the oil pan of it and the half of a synchro was in some pieces on the oil pan ! I ordered all the new synchro, seals and bearing in Japan and the idea was to make it by a friend buider from Porsche but He haven't time to do it now:sleep:.

The summer is comming and I would drive the car this year.

I hear good feedback from reworx...

There are more Golf R's and Audi S3s and RS3s to tune plus used Porches. Support the flag and all that.
