Ceylon's 2002 Innocent Blue FD

Built up the turbos in the office during my lunch break :D.

If the weather takes a break from tipping it down I might get a chance to fit these this weekend :D.

That may be a problem with the twins. Not as if they need any help with retaining heat ;)

I got hot side of EFR8374 and downpipe done, debating whether to get the new cat mid pipe selectively coated or not (have to have the pipe made yet)

Yeah I don't want them getting any warmer, that's just asking for cracks. Makes sense for a single though :).

Probably worth doing. My Apexi cat is uncoated stainless, but I plan to only run it until the SBG midpipe becomes available. I might ceramic coat that :).

That the twin cat midpipe that SBG posted about?

That's what I'm going to have made, will get the heat shroud off stock cat fitted and then I'm looking to use a pair of HJS cats but also been looking at some other cores. They've certainly gone up a bit in price over last year though.

Yeah that's the one, seems a good solution. I'll see how runs on the Apexi, it may end up staying on that as it's a nice pipe with twin cores inline. Interested to see how yours turns out, may be interested if you decide to make a few :D. They are a rep of the FEED twin core that has been around years but it's so expensive.

Has there been any more updates about the SBG twin cat setup? I remember reading about it a year ago but there seems to have been no developments since…

Last few pics of the twins before fitting. Glad I've got spares as they make a pretty awesome ornament. If I was single I'd have stuff like this all over the house :D.

Got a few hours of wrenching in yesterday, twins, downpipe and y pipe in. It's pretty close now, nearly ready to fire her up!

Picked up a super now master cylinder brace, the hardware will need plating before fitting now that I've committed to the gold passivate route :ROFLMAO:.

Thought I'd get up early and bleed the clutch on the FD so I could run it into work for the first test drive. I noticed the reservoir was low so topped it up and watched it slowly go down.... Generally not a good sign for a clutch that semi works.

Popped the slave out of the box and couldn't see any leaks so checked the master to find it was shot, the seal must have got stuck from sitting since November then broke when I started the car.

I've ordered a new master cylinder from Mazda which has to come from Japan so it looks like the FD wont be running until sometime next week, d'oh!

The worst bit was it has been leaking brake fluid into the drivers footwell, so I had to lift the carpet and give it all a good clean, glad I didn't keep topping it up!

For anyone considering the AutoExe front brace, I can confirm the gearbox cover and starter can be removed easily leaving it in place which is nice, I was hoping to not have to remove it for the bleeding.

You could just buy a mx5 seal kit to tide you over seems its out tom? You could sell that on when done then đź‘Ť
Yeah I've ordered a seal kit for ÂŁ11.95 that might even be delivered tomorrow as I don't really want to wait the two weeks before driving the car haha. I'll still replace the master when it arrives as this was the tattiest part in the bay so it's days were number anyway :D.

The seal kit PN is B3124152Z if anyone needs it.
